How To | Water Proof Outdoor Furniture

Even before I designed my pool I knew I was going to need at least 4 lounge chairs for my pool.  I entertain a lot and it always ends up to be at least 4-8 people plus kids!  As soon as the pool was done the loungers were gifted to me... but I couldn't settle on what sort of table I should put in between.  Every table I looked at was over $50, and the small metal glass table was still $20 and had no personality at all!  So I started thinking outside of the box and decided to of course buy a budget friendly indoor table and make it outdoor furniture.
I was on the search for a small side table.  I knew I wanted something like the Lack, but I didn't want to drive to Ikea for it.  Low and behold, Walmart has a Lack!  It is a little more expensive {$11} but I figured it was worth it not to spend the gas to get to Ikea and whatever else I may "find and need" when I was there.  To make it "outdoor" I decided to try Rust-oleums Never Wet product.  It claims to make anything water proof.
I originally thought I would stick with white so I bought the white, then I thought twice and leaned toward color so I went back in and purchased the 2 pack of clear.
Still sticking with white I started on the bottom feet and then used my tip to elevate the legs off the drop cloth so they didn't stick.  Then I flipped them over to stray the tops.  After one coat of white I changed gears and decided on color.  I apply two coats of regular spray paint and then applied the clear never wet.  I sprayed a little to much in some places so there is a white frosted build up on a couple of the legs, but over all the top coat went on super easy!

I love the pop of color... so happy I went with the orange!  And the Never Wet works well... the water beads up and seams to run off the surface just as it says it will.  I will give a full review after a long season of pool time, but for $11 I really don't care if they last more than one season!

It is the last week for linking up to Outdoor Extravaganza!  Hop on over to the other talented ladies to see what they painted this week!

I didn't even know that product existed. So smart for the pool area where you know everything will get drenched. Love the pop of red!
