Client Project | Eclectic Living & Dining Room

How was your holiday weekend?
This was my second 3 day weekend... I could so get used to that!  But even though the kiddos were home I have been keeping myself busy with client work!  Good and bad when you work from home and have kids around all day... but such is life!
A new E-Design client of mine is looking for some guidance.  She would like to take her love for MCM, art deco, and french vintage and make it all work cohesively in her main living spaces.  She also had a lot of furniture she wanted to keep.  At first this seemed slightly impossible... but I love me a good challenge!  I am so pleased that she is very happy with my design selections!

The client already had this floral pillow and loved the color pallet it provided.  So I used this to pull all of the colors out and also help mix the retro, vintage, french vibe!  She wanted to keep her vintage sofa, but reupholster it in a dark color so I suggested a dark navy chenille, and kept the other sitting pieces of furniture in the MCM era.  I then used the accent furniture to mix in the french and art deco feel.
In her adjacent dining room she wanted to keep all of her furnishings and add some color and artwork.  I carried the same window treatments into the dining room... they are neutral but still have tons of texture!  I wanted to pull the colors from the pillow into the dining room with the rug... and this one is perfect!  Then I used the art pieces to bring in the french, vintage and MCM feel came with the prints, plate arrangement and the mirror art.

Here are the rooms currently...

The long yellow couch is the one that needs to be recovered.  The entertainment center, vintage suitcases and the vintage deco console in the corner are all staying.

The dining rooms layout will stay as is... but I think the color and the decor accents need to be lightened up!

I am excited to see the progress in this room!  I love it when clients have great items and just need a little help in pulling it together!
