My Thanksgiving Table... Maybe

I love the idea of setting a formal table for the holidays.  I even go as far as doing place settings.  I am sure my family just looks at me strangely every year, and it is torn apart in 3.5 seconds, but I love to have a pretty table!  This year I wanted to work with my current obsession... black and white stripes!
I had purchased a yard of this stripe fabric from Ikea to make a bag with months ago!  I never got around to making the bag, so I been holding on to it.  I think I am going to split it in half and make two runners to go across the table as placemats.
I have exactly 8 adults coming and what do you know my table seats 8 {there will have to be a kids table... but I think the kids would like that better!}  I may use the straw placemats for the 4 place settings on the end, or I may just go with out a placemat.. not sure yet.
I love the layered look!  The top plate is my mom's china that I inherited.  It is sort of small when just put on the gold charger by itself so I added another layer with my white and silver china.  I love the pop of the white "boarder" in between the gold and cream.  Those gold beaded napkin rings my mom and I picked up about 10 years ago from the dollar store.  That was before the dollar store was super well known! I have used them almost every year!  I am not set on the straw just yet... maybe something else will inspire me!
I love my centerpiece for the table.  I asked the hubs to build me some trough like containers.  We decided to use fence board and give it a grey stain.  I wish the hubs was better trained at taking how top pics... but I will take what I can get, and that is projects completed!  I love the rustic feel of the wood and the color! I filled it with pumpkins and gourds for everyday, but maybe some flowers will appear for turkey day.
I also wanted to share this amazing find!  World Market has these super simple buffet napkins; a set of six for $10!  They have many colors to choose from!  I picked up the peacock blue as an option for thanksgiving, I am not going to use them, but will probably end up keeping them to use year round!

Have you started to plan your thanksgiving day table?  What has inspired you this year?
