How To | Rustic Stick Trees

Welcome back for the One Item Challenge! This week the one item was sticks, big or small, thick or thin. The possibilities are truly endless but I settled on some rustic fire starters.

I ordered a box HERE from Amazon. I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do with them, but I loved the rustic look of them! After searching my house for some inspiration I kept staring at a couple empty wine bottles. A-ha!
I stuck a stick in the opening to give me a little bit of height. Then using my hot glue gun I started at the bottom glueing the sticks to the wine bottle at a little bit of an angle. I just kept going layering the sticks in the next layer and then filling in the spaces as needed. The fire starters are super stiff and full of sappy resin so they are hard to break, but if you look at the bottom there are a few smaller pieces. I used those to make the top and fill in the gaps.

Check out how the other ladies got creative with sticks!
