DIY Black & White Abstract Art

A few weeks back I found myself obsessed with black and white art.  I spent a few hours perusing pinterest to find some inspiration... and boy there was a lot of it!
But I narrowed it down and decided to give it a try!

I literally had everything for this project so it was a no brainer to give it a try!

The hubs and I bought these pieces of art about 10 years ago for our first apartment together.  Since then I have not really used them... the SF one here and there, but since moving into this house only once.  So, since I had the black frames and the scale was perfect I decided to give them some new life.

I cut off the paper backing and then bent all of the staples up to remove the cardboard.  As I suspected it  revealed a piece of mat board the poster was glued to... a perfect canvas!

I pulled out some black acrylic paint and two different sizes of foam brushes, and 20 mins later...

For the last year I have lived here and nothing there has made me happy... not even the modern plate wall I just put up a few weeks ago!  But this... this is perfect!  I love the bold graphic feel; black and white is my two favorite colors; and it was completely FREE!!!
