Black & White Panels Revealed!!!

Ok!  I will admit that I should have just waited till they were all done!  Thank you for all of your comments and advice!  Every single one of you told me to finish the project.  It is soo funny... if I had been a client I would have told her the same exact thing... wait till it is all done! HA!

I really need to work on my window shooting skills!  Anyone got any advice for me?  I probably took over 50 pics trying to play with my f/stop, ISO, and Aperture and these are the only two decent shots I got!  Oh well... another project and post!  But back the the B&W... I LOVE!  They are graphic and add that pop of modern to my formal living and dining room!  For these panels I took the Ritva panels from Ikea and lined out 15" stripes {the same size stripe in my adjacent family room} and painted with good ol latex wall paint.  I like that the paint had made the panels very crisp where the paint is because it keeps their shape well!  I will be hanging the rod higher or shortening the panels just a tad.  And also adding some sheers behind {maybe that will help my window blow out!!}
Oh and DIY TIP:
The Rivta panels are not all square.  If you look really hard at the black line on the panel to the far right, you might be able to tell the slanted line.  Be sure to mark several across the panel and then connect them.  If a line seems out of place it probably is and it will not be level.  It is an easy fix though so I will add that to my list!  I am pondering some of the other projects in this room... hopefully I can finalized them soon and pull the trigger!

I'm giving you a high five!! Those panels looks awesome!! The look modern and timeless all at the same time :) Sadly I have no window taking tips, I'm having the same issues with Avery's roman shades, its hard to get a good shot of them!!

Omg soooo much better than my attempt! They look great! As far as shooting windows (I may be wrong here) but you either focus on what's outside (a tree, etc) but the inside will be darker, or you have it blown out like that. So there's a good time of day to have the best of both worlds.. I think right before sunset.

The curtains are very beautiful. They have an interesting pattern which can't be frequently seen in many places.
