My House | Modern Plate Wall

Until very recently I have not been fond of using plates as decor.  I have always felt like they were dated and sort of weird.  But as all things come back around the block, the plates have gotten much cooler and the formations have gotten more chic.  So as I was staring at my bare wall over my buffet in the living/dining room I thought plates would be fun there.

I went on a quick shopping spree around my house and at Home Goods to see what sort of collection I could find; and of course black, white, gold, and silver was catching my eye!  And BONUS... most on clearance!

I wanted to play with the arrangement so I thought maybe I would frame them... then thought no.

Once I found my arrangement I needed to add the hangers to the plates.  I used what I had on hand... some saw teeth, some other hangers, and my hot glue gun.
The sawtooth worked the best and I did have a few fall with the circle things {and luckily most of the plate were china, so nothing broke} but I just crazy glue to connect the circle hooks instead of the hot glue.  They have been up for over a week and nothing has moved!

I felt like I needed something personal in the mix so I printed out a large M and placed a glass plate over the paper to use as a guide.  With some acrylic paint I simply traced over the M.

A fresh take on a super traditional decor item!

I think they look great and very Tiffany. You did a great job making the style your own!

That looks awesome! I have a plate wall in my dining room that has been looking quite pathetic for some time. This is a good reminder that I need to figure out a way to revive it or ditch it all together!
