Client Project | Kitchen Design

Happy Monday!
Today I thought I would share a project from one of my E-Design clients.  This couple is building a custom home in Michigan.  They are keeping things simple and are hands-on DIYers, but live 2 hours from the closest big box store and 6 hours from an Ikea!!  So they enlisted me to help them design a kitchen that will be constructed from a local custom cabinetmaker.  They had a very tight budget so they were hoping I could use some of my kitchen design skills to cut the cost without cutting the style and function.

Here are the 3 options:

Option #1

Option #2

Option # 3

The clients wanted a modern kitchen with open shelving but still functional for their everyday.  I gave them a few options for the upper cabinet/shelving configuration, sink placement, and refer location.  The focal point from the adjacent rooms and the front door was the wall for the range, so that was a given and I didn't play with moving that to another wall.  In the end they were happy with the options and I was able to save them a few dollars by keeping the cabinet layout basic.  Ground has broke on their project so I will be excited to see the progress and share with you guys along the way!

I love the way kitchen styling is going without all the upper cabinets. It's so much more like a room. Great designs girl!

They all look gret Tiffany but I choose Option 2- That's just me because I prefer open shelving for decorative purposes only rather than functional. They're lucky to have you on their team, can't wait to see what happens next!
