Our House... Living/Dining Room Plans

I have not completely finished my family room/kitchen and I have already moved on to design my living/dining room.  Well lets face it I am already designing my bedroom in my head, but in actual design and purchasing I am focused on the living/dining room.

I have been so all over the place with this space.  It is a large space that I love, but really it is just small enough to make it hard to find a workable furniture layout {more on that to come... later}.  A couple weeks ago I found a fabric that I just loved...

It is a high end designer fabric, and I found it at a discount store for $8 a yard!!!  It is the perfect drapery weight fabric... and I love the graphic pattern.  But that blew my thoughts of having a mono chromatic/metallic room out of the water.  And quite honestly... I know can pull it off, but in my house sometimes I just need a little color.  Just like that minimalist thing I can never really be happy with, but always want to try!!

So I needed to find another coordinating fabric to pull together my already painted pine credenza and the fabric I had already bought for the wing backs and dining room chairs....

So I think I have found that fabric!  Here is the conceptual board in progress...

I am in love with the grey/blue/green ikat fabric!  I have always loved the chartreuse color... and it fits perfect with the navy lattice and the already picked out grays.
So I love all of the choices thus far... but I need some help!
Do you see that I am trying to add in a little orange?  Yes or no?  It probably does not have to be in fabric form... I could pop some accents??  I picked up the aqua pillow covers at Ikea and they go so well with the Ikat... I will be keeping those!

Also...

I am thinking of painting my table black.  There are too many wood finishes that are just too close, but don't match.  I am all for mixing the wood tones, but not in this way!  So yes or no on the black table?  Also should I keep the chairs or which them out for 4 parsons chairs and the wing backs at the ends?  I am thinking of doing the parsons chairs in a solid grey front {the fabric from the front of the wing back and the seats} with the ikat on the back... thoughts?  Or do I just paint the chairs there now a black also?

Sometimes I am amazed people hire me to do this to there house when I have such a hard time doing it for myself.  But that seems to be a common theme amongst designers... right?

Alright I am waiting for you votes... Give it to me!

Love all your colors but I think the big black table would be too heavy. I would opt for fabric parsons chairs all the way around with a contrast back and I would also mirror the back of the hutch for light and reflection and add some colored glass in there. It looks like it is all coming along.

Bravo!

I love it, unexpected but delightful. Yes, paint that table! I think black is a great choice. Another idea, if you'd like to lighten the mood... baby blue, it would really go with that fantastic armchair. I recently saw a table painted baby blue and I thought it turned out fab.
