Friday Finds... Ross

Happy Friday All!
This weekend {as much as I would love to stay home and finish my cornice take 2... and I promise a tutorial next week!!!} the fam and I will be at my families house in South Lake Tahoe!  Two of my great friends and their families will be joining us and we are planning for a long weekend of sledding, lazing, and enjoying each other!  I am so looking forward to the mini break!

This week was a doozy!  Nothing to complain about really... but busy, just the way I like it!  Earlier this week I headed to a clients house to accessorize an area we have been working on and as I was loading my car I realized I didn't buy candles or a plate to go in a super cool antique plate stand I had for him.  As I scoured my route to see any signs of a open store I spied a Ross!  Now I love Ross, but the ones in my neighborhood seem to be a bit picked over... this one was so not!  I had about 15 mins before I had to be at my clients house... but boy did I shop under pressure!

I spotted and hemmed over this side table {honestly for like 30 secs... but it felt like forever!} to go in between my fancy wing chairs that my grandma gave me.  I love this table, but not for that spot.  I ended up leaving her there, but for $39.99 I should have just bought it!!  I know I will get comments on that poor move!!

But here is a small collection of what did make it home with me!  Some of these items I purchased for clients, but honestly they might not make it out of my house!  I have organizing my house on the brain {if you didn't know it is organize month here at Living Savvy} so when I saw this bracelet stand I had to snatch it up!  $9.99!!!  The mirror box is large and was on clearance... couldn't find anything wrong with it!!  $5!!!

Honestly I know I am about 5 years behind on the Foo Dog trend, and for a long time they sort of scared me.  But when I saw these jade ones I just had to have them!  I love them... and you know what?  $12.99 each!!!!

And this orange leather box with nail head trim.  NEED I say more?  It is stunning, large, and has so many possibilities!  $14.99!!! A huge steal!

Did you find anything great this week?

Enjoy your weekend!

Hi Living Savvy lovers! Thanks Tiffany for having me, and I am thrilled to learn of everyone's organizing tips... I'm a bug for not leaving STUFF out in view. I find the best organizing tool is to PURGE and not keep stuff you don't use. I figure if I haven't used it in a 2-3 years, it should go to Salvation Army or someone who can use it. (My husband would say I throw things out sooner, like a year or two--he says I throw out the newspaper before he has a chance to read it!)

A great tip for organizing a collection of things is to have a UNIFYING THEME.  This cupboard in my kitchen had small porcelains and a mix of blue things previously, but I wanted a new look.  So I "shopped my house" and gathered all small silver objects and arranged them, like this:

Just to accentuate the silver I adhered turquoise paper cut outs on the back of each "cubby" with rubber cement, so they can be removed someday. You can read my post about the process and my easy silver cleaning tip. It's been fun collecting a few more small pieces to fill in the gaps--I'm still looking for a small silver clock to replace the silver painted cheap one you see here:

I hope this gives you all some ideas .  Thanks Tiffany, and happy organizing!
Nancy from Powell Brower Home.

Tiffany, what a score at Ross! I would have brought the very same objects home..can't believe those prices, and I have always loved that table, too. Makes me reconsider Ross! I used to go to one all the time, but haven't in years now. Have a great weekend, and thanks for having me.

Wow Tiffany you totally scored! I wish there was a Ross near me - from what I've seen around the blogosphere they have tons of cute accessories and their prices sound great.
I love Nancy's philosophy of purging, and having a unifying theme with displaying collections. The silver looks so great against that blue background!
