Savvy Sponsor Welcome

I am so very happy to introduce a new sponsor to Living Savvy!

Hannah of Hannah J Originals is an amazing artist specializing in mixed media canvas art.
Here are a few words from the very talented artist.

My current collection of paintings was inspired by simple observation. While walking with my children last fall- I noticed the simplicity and beauty of the leaves that had fallen on the ground around us. When leaves fall, and sit on pavement they naturally create a print. This beautiful act of nature caught my eye. The idea of the sidewalks having a history underneath the pattern is what inspired this collection. Each piece has an idea, or a thought that has inspired it- from a feeling or thought, to something as simple as the way a leaf attaches to a tree- each is unique in inspiration.
In my shop I have a selection of pieces in various sizes and price points. All canvases are original paintings on 1.5” deep gallery wrapped canvas or linen.  I am available for custom pieces as well. If you are in the CT area and in need of a mural artist I’m your gal. Take a look at my murals and paintings on my blog at www.angelbabiespiantandcookies.blogspot.com
Thanks so much!

Guest Post For A Simple Affair

Last week I guest posted over at A Simple Affair.  Carly is running a series of favorite things A-Z.  I mentioned it on the same post I revealed my final week of The One Room Challenge... so some of you might missed it!  Since I am still on vaca.. I thought I would share it!  Be sure to check out some of the other letters to see what all of the other great bloggers love!  She assigned me W.

I was so excited when Carly asked me to guest post for her A-Z Series; then she told me I would have the letter W.  I read the email and said "what?  I can't think of anything I like that starts with a W?!?!"  And my husband looked at me and said "really?" as he peers over to the stack of empty wine bottles on the counter.... "really?!"  HA!  With that one being accounted for, I was excited to brainstorm for some others...

I love the idea of an all white room!  The space feels clean and uncluttered when everything is white.  A bathroom with white tile and white towels... just sparkles with all of the plumbing fixtures and glass!  With 2 little boys I could probably never pull it off, but maybe one day I can have an all white room!

{Wainscoting & Wallpaper}

Wainscoting and wallpaper have made a huge comeback in the last couple of years, but I am sure some would argue that they never went away!  That may be true, but today's version is way much cooler!  I love the graphic papers that are great for an extra accent pop.  And I love how the traditional chair rail and plate rail are being redone!

When I think of water, I think of the ocean.  I have always been drawn to the colors of the waves, and they different blues against the blue sky.  My favorite place is anywhere there is water... I would prefer the ocean, but lakes are good too!

As you can see I love my wine!  I love all things wine; drinking wine, wine art, wine cork art.  We actually  even have started to make our own wine with another wine loving couple, and we just bottled our first vintage!

Thank you so much Carly for inviting me to join the series!  It was fun to get my brain thinking and obviously I like a lot of thing that start with W!

She also added West Elm... duh!  That is like my favorite retail store!

What do you like that starts with W?

I Have Been Tagged... Twice!

Happy Monday!  Did you all have a good weekend?  I am sure I will?  I actually wrote this on Friday night because I am going to take a few days off to head up to South Lake Tahoe for a little R&R.  My Uncle and Aunt have a 2nd home there and I have been vacationing there since I was a very little girl.  I am so excited to take my boys there to sled {if there is any snow}!  I am sure I will share some pics when I get back!

Last week I was tagged a couple of times in this fun new game going around.  Carmel from
Our Fifth House {and yes you are still my friend!} and Pam of Simple Details both tagged me!

Here are the rules:
**You must post the rules
**Answer the 11 questions that the tagger posted for you; then create 11 questions to ask the people you've tagged
**Tag 11 people and link them in your post
**Let them know you have tagged them

So I will start with Carmel's questions!

1. If you had a time machine, where or rather when would you go?
Hmm... I would go to the future, but stay the same age as I am now!  HA!

2. Diamonds or Pearls?

Diamonds!  I love the sparkle!

3. What's your favorite movie?

I have a lot!

  When Harry Met Sally

Sliding Doors
I was obsessed with having my hair cut to this style.  I never quite got it right, but I still love it!  Can you tell they are all old?!  Now I hardly ever make it to the movies =(.

4. When you were a kid, what was your favorite television show?

Silver Spoons.  I had a major crush on Rick Schroder!

5. Let's pretend you found $50 in your couch cushions, what would you run out and buy?

I don't know if I could narrow it down!  I think I would splurge on some new spring clothes, or go to Home Goods and see how many things I can get for $50!  Or better yet go thrifting with it and really max the $50 bucks out!

6. What is your favorite color?

My favorite color is red, but I hardly wear it even though it looks really good on my skin tone!  I love to decorate with it and add a pop of it to most rooms!

7. Why did you start your blog?
I started my blog because I wanted to use it as an advertising tool for my design business.  I have been blogging for just about a year {as I say full time 5 posts a week} and I really enjoy the community of other designers and bloggers that share all of their ideas.  It really has been a huge pleasure to be apart of it!

8. What is your favorite home decor store?

Home Goods.  But if I had to pick a true retail brand I would say West Elm.

9. Name one thing in your make-up bag you can not live without?
I have to have mascara!  Even when I don't put any make up on for the day I will curl my eyelashes and put on some mascara.

10. Do you watch Revenge?
No... what is Revenge?  Should I be watching it!?!?

11. Will you still be my friend even though I made you suffer through this little game of tag?
Yes, but you owe me a glass of wine!

And now Pams:
1. What would be the career of your dreams?
Honestly I have always dreamed of being a successful Interior Designer.  But I would love to also do magazine staging, or party planning!

2. I would eat Top Ramen noodles for a month in order to save up for ___________! Or, I wouldn't eat Top Ramen for anything!
I love me some Top Ramen, but I don't think I could eat them for a month for anything!

3. Which would you choose for a date with your husband: Candlelight dinner at a nice restaurant or day of hiking in the mountains?
A Restaurant candles optional.  I am not a huge mussy romantic, but I would pick this because I rarely get to eat out anymore with just him, our boys are always in tow!

4. In which sport or athletic activity would you most like to participate?

Jamie Eason via Flickr
I would love to be discipline enough to do figure competitions.  But I like my wine and my food way to much to really get that serious!

5. What do you wish you were more knowledgeable about?

How to use photoshop and my camera better!  Both on my list of things to do this year!

6. Pretend one of your online blogging friends is coming to visit for the weekend, what one thing would you do to your home before she arrived?

Clean it from top to bottom!  Probably change every little decor item twice to just put it right back into the same place!  Buy flowers! And make a little welcome basket of things I think she might like.

7. What kind of driver are you (speed demon, rule follower, tickets, fender benders, easy going)?
Speed demon for sure!

8. It's hard for me to_____________.
remember to be patient, let go of control, and be surprised!

9.  What are your nicknames?
I don't have any that I am aware of.  Really!

10. What is your best quality?
I always find this question hard.  I would like to think that my best quality is that I am will to do anything for family and friends.  Could be my worst too!!

11.  What is your best piece of advice for raising children?
Since my are only 2 and 4 I am pretty sure I don't have the best advice yet.  But currently I would say remember everything is a phase and it will eventually pass!

Ok... Now for my questions!

1.  How many times a day do you check email, Facebook, twitter, Pintrest?

2.  What is your favorite reality show?

3.  Where would you have a vacation house?

4.  Heels or flats?

5.  If you weren't {current career path} you would be ________

6.  Hoarder, Donate, or throw away?

7.  Favorite fast food place

8.  What is the one item you want to change in your house right now?

9.  Do you have any hidden talents?

10.  Do you try clothes on before you buy them or try them on at home and then return?

11.  What do you like most about blogging?

Click over to see why these chicks are so amazing!
Thanks for playing!

Spray Painters Anonymous... Hi Sugarplum!

Thank you, Tiffany, for calling this meeting. I was in desperate need of
one because it seems I've fallen off the deep end. But if hitting rock
bottom means I've got a permanently stained pointer finger, then I choose
to stay here...in my spraypainting nirvana misery.

The question isn't so much, what have I spraypainted. But rather, what
haven't I spraypainted?!

There's the obvious projects, like an outdoor

And old metal
made new again.

But how about bigger projects, like beds? Oh yes, I've painted
, too!

I've even gone so far as to spray the handle on
my toilet
!! (Which, by the way, has handled it like a champ! Pun

I've made peace with my addiction to spraypaint, and have started using it
for good. No sense in letting old
and bad
looking clearance items
get tossed aside! No Sir, give them a shot of
paint and you've got some swanked-out decor!

Thanks Tiffany, for letting me share today. It feels good to be amongst
other, equally sick people!

Every project is so very clever!  I am heading to my boys playroom to steal some of their animals!  Thank you Cassie for sharing your illness and giving us more reason to reach for the bottle {of spray paint!}
If you are not already one of Cassie thousands of followers then you must click over to see her amazing house!

She is in the home stretch of finishing up her family room makeover and just shared another fabulous spray painting project!

And now let us all repeat the Spray Painters Mantra:
Friends, help me source all the items I am searching for but can not find.
Give me the vision to think outside of the box and remember the can of spray paint,
and bless me with the patience to let each of the coats dry before I move on to the next step!

Cookies and coffee are in the back! =)

If you need support for your spray painting addiction and would like to "attended" a meeting
please contact me!

We always love to know other addicts, and can always use more inspiration for our projects!
