Productive Weekend Randomness

Did you all have a good weekend?
I was very productive... finished a few projects, decided my Christmas dinner menu and even found time to have a little girl hang out time!

Remember when I mentioned the long list of items I wanted to complete before Christmas?  Well on that list is refinishing my formal dining room table and reupholstering my chairs.

Obviously my chairs are a little missed matched!  If you remember last year, I tackled my first major reupholstery project with my wingback chair.  At the time I only had room for one in my rental so I just did one.  Of course I have since decided to use them as heads of my dining table {a decision that the hubs is not fond of} and need to do reupholster the other one.  And yes, of course I want to change the chair that is already redone again!!!  So I will be doing two!

One of my favorite discount fabric stores is going out of business... so sad, but so lucky for me!  I picked up these two amazing fabrics to do both of my wing backs and my grandmas chairs {that I redid also last year, but only did four of the eight.. so I will be doing the four again and the other four!!!}

This is the original fabric... love it more now then I ever did, but as you can see it has seen better {pre-dog} days!  I am also thinking I am going to paint out the table and the chairs black.
But I am in debate... high gloss black or chalk paint black.
What do you think?

I put the finishing touches on my boys activity/advent calendar.  Abby from A Delightful Design featured my cal in her post on friday... I just wish I had these fun envelopes from delivered by then!  How cute are these little bags!  They add the perfect pop of color!  There are so many great items on their website I will be ordering lots from them in the future!

J and M have really enjoyed opening up the envelopes every morning!

As I was doing my laundry this weekend I finally felt the push to unpack the last box in my house and finish the small project from our mini kitchen remodel.  We took down the long shelf and pole to shorten it and install the cabinets from our kitchen.  I wanted to reinstall the shelf below the cabinets to store my laundry soap and dryer sheets, but just never go around to it!

Before, I had just kept everything on top of my washer.  But while doing laundry the basket would work it's way over the edge of the wash machine.  It has almost completely fall to make me just do it!

I reused a drink jar for my laundry detergent.  I feel like it is so clean and I have more space to lay clothes out on the top.  I still have a lot more to do in here, but this is a good start!

Looks like you're getting there one step at a time. Looking forward to seeing the chairs. Not sure about matte or glossy- are you thinking more formal or casual?
