How To: Simple Ribbon Bow

As I have said before I am not very crafty... I know that may sound weird as I write a DIY blog, but I have not been good with flower arrangements, scrapbooking, or knitting etc.  I have though, really wanted to learn how to make a large bow... and thanks to the world of Pinterest, I now feel a little more crafty!  And as it turns out.. it is super simple!

Here is the step by step:
1. You will need ribbon {I like mine with wire edges} and floral twine
2. Make your first loop the size you would like your bow to be
3.  Fold the ribbon back over and make another loop on the other side.
4.  Continue looping the ribbon back and forth until you have the number or loops you would like.
Mine is 4 on each side, but you could do more or less.
5. Cut the ribbon just shy of the last loop.
6.  In the middle of the loops cut a small V on either side of the ribbon
7. Wrap the floral twine around the V.  I use twine from the $ store so I like to double it up.  I use the loop in the twine to hang the bow.
8.  Fluff the bow full.

I attached it to my new favorite product.. the 3M hook, long with another piece of ribbon with a knot in it to hang my Christmas cards on this year.
I guess crafting is not as hard as I thought it would be!  Look out... I think my presents will be a little over the to now that I know how to make big bows!

My grandma always made the most beautiful bows on all her presents. It was one of the best parts of Christmas. Sadly, I did not inherit that talent. :)

I'm the worst at bows! Why did my mom never teach me? Great little tutorial :)

I never thought of nipping it in like that to make it less bulky. Thanks for the tip!
