A Savvy Christmas

My tree is up and decorated and now I can say it is Christmas in my house!  I love white twinkly lights... and if I can keep them up all year I totally would!  This year I brought back some of lasts years favorites, but since it was a new house I had to throw some new ideas into the mix!

I wanted to dress up the new floating shelves so I {along with J and my mom} made two ornament garlands.  Super simple and inexpensive for such a big festive impact!

I used simple curling ribbon from the dollar store and picked up a couple more balls to add to my collection.  Tie the ribbon the one ball and then begin to string the balls on the ribbon.

I tasked J to unwrap all of the new one {that I picked up at the $ store} and he also helped pull all the ornaments to the end.  I would string a few on then pull them all down the ribbon together.

Once we were done, I laid them out to space them out a little bit.

I hung the stockings and the garland with small 3M hooks.

I picked up the simple garland and large ornaments {also at the $ store}.

The wreaths were round, but I made them square and embellished them with a little sparkly branches.  I attached the red ribbon with a simple straight pin.

I used the same hooks that I used to hang the garland but just upside down.  A simple knot in the ribbon threads through the hook.
