Our House... Week Warriors

Happy Monday!
Here is a quick update of the projects tackled in the last 48 hours!  I have to say, we had a lot of comments by friend and family about moving into a brand new house and then ripping it up!
But that is just how we roll!
Luckily I have a VERY handy husband who is always up for a good project, and a good design!
He was a rock star this weekend!

I finished off the lines in the family room!  I will share later this week with a tutorial on how to keep your lines straight!

We removed the a set of cabinets in the kitchen and relocated them to the laundry room.  The hubs had to remove the existing shelf and pole {that was too low anyways}, shorten it and rehang it higher.  We still have to do all of the touch up paint.

We then opened up the wall to add support studs for the shelves.  My brother in law spared as few hours and few $$ in tools!

I removed the dinky 4" backsplash with a little muscle...

And replaced it with this amazing marble and glass mosaic!  Me and the tile saw got very friendly!

We also removed the micro/hood and attempted to replace it with a stainless vent hood.  This was our one issue of the weekend... In a track house, nothing is centered!  So as I thought it would be easy to take the micro down and slap up a pretty new hood.. it was so not!  The hubs had to cut out the existing perfectly good vent to the outside, move it, and replace it with the right side duct.  He will be learning a little bit of stucco work this week!!

This was late last night installing the hood!

He also installed my beautiful new faucet!  And installed a new outlet for the microwave to go in the pantry!

So here is the list I made on Friday....
Move electrical outlet behind hood
Remove 4" granite backsplash
Block out walls for shelving and hood
Tile backsplash and wall
Install shelving
Install hood
Install new outlet in pantry for microwave
Install new faucet
Install garbage disposal button
Finish crown on cabinets in kitchen/laundry room
Paint laundry room patches

And here are the other things we added along the way..
Install a screen door
Mount the television
unpack the kitchen

A lot done... still 1,000 more to go!

Hope you all have a great week!  I will have an update on Friday!

It's looking so good already. That tile made such a difference. You definitely have me thinking about making simple changes to my own kitchen!
