Oh Monday...
Fall finally arrived here in Nor Cal, or should I say fall came for one day. Saturday was low 80's and there was a slight chill in the air. On Sunday it was mid 60's with a cold breeze, and today it is raining. It is forecasted to rain for 3 days straight... right into my birthday on Wednesday! And of course the plan is to get pedis with my girls... so that should be fun!
Anyways...
This weekend the boys have been patiently waiting to decorate the outside for halloween. This year J wanted to make it a "spooky" halloween so we promptly bought a 6' grim reaper that is motion and noise activated and a glow in the dark skeleton mummy! If they last through the rain I will share pics later this week... but that got me in the mood to add some fall touches to the inside.
**Warning**
I have mostly unpacked, but these pics are nowhere close to being complete! Also, I am still getting used the light and when the best time to take pics is... So be kind!
This is walking into the room. I am still loving the stripes!
For now I hung my circle art to fill the space next to the tv. I have plans for a different DIY circle art, but those projects will have to wait till I am all unpacked. I love my MCM credenza with our new huge flat screen mounted above... it is a very clean look! So very different from what we had before.
My blue skull found a home and he is visited with a black crow and pumpkins I picked up last year at the dollar store.
I am not typically a rug on rug kind of girl, but we went with basic carpet in hopes of ripping it out one day and putting down hardwood. I am hoping the rug cuts down on the visible wear and tear. This one is a light handwoven rug that seems to lay pretty well so I am liking it thus far. I will be making pillows in that blue zig zag for these chairs... again when everything is unpacked.
This is not the reveal I was planning for this knotty pine cabinet makeover, so please forgive the art and boxes piled next to it. This thing is huge and has the best storage! I was able to get most of my decorative glass in the doors and all of my vase fillers and such in the drawers. The gold hardware was with the existing piece and I just attacked them with a little Rubb & Buff.
PS...
the hubs likes the cabinet and will no longer doubt my makeover skills!
When I saw these owl books ends at Target I just had to snatch them up. I could even DIY something this good for $24! They make me smile every time I walk by them!
A few white and orange pumpkins...
I picked up this brass lamp from the habitat ReStore a few weeks back. I actually bought it and planned to leave it as is! I never in a million years thought I would by a brass lamp to keep it a brass lamp, but I like the way it plays off the hardware. I plan to keep this room black, white, grey, and accents of gold!
Back to unpacking... I think I will be done this week and I can finally get to the fun stuff!
All of the projects!

holy crap it already looks so amazing!!! love what you have done so far, tiff! beautiful!
It's coming together. That painted cabinet looks so great and I love all the little decorations- very stylish! You've inspired me to decorate a little for Halloween (normally I'm such a grinch and pull out a few for the 31st and then can't wait to get them back in the tub in anticipation of Christmas decorating). Just so you know, when "H" was little I always decorated (I don't want to come across as a bad mom!)
It's looking great Tiffany! The stripes are awesome and I agree that the brass lamp is perfect as is. I never thought I'd be saying that either:)
So fun! The stripes are great! That lamp is a beauty but my favorite piece is the sideboard below the TV. Wow! Love it!
I almost bought those owl bookends! I love them. And be sure to save that like of boxes for me. :)
Those stripes are so fun! You can change up the decor but maintain the stripes as the years go on too!
The stripes are my fave! I need to catch up on reading your posts...been way busy and realize I've been missing out on beautiful stuff!
Your house looks so pretty, Tiffany! I can't believe you've only been in there a couple of weeks! And the brass lamp - awesome shape, and the color is so great with the gray cabinet - love the warm/cool thing!
Love the stripes! You've done so much soo quickly!!
