Oh, the weekend went by so fast!
I spent the whole weekend home planning with the hubs and the kids. Are you sick of hearing about my new house yet? No? Ok, good... because I have about 60 posts scheduled in my head about the new house! So bear with me! I am trying to limit my banter about it... but I literally think about it all day, and then dream about it {if I am lucky enough to fall asleep} or lay awake moving furniture in my head at night! What... not everyone does that? Yes they do ?!?!
We did accomplish a few decisions this weekend. We picked out the open shelving we will use when we complete our little kitchen customization. {see plans here} We took accurate measurements of our backyard, and narrowed our design options on some good old fashion trace paper. And we bought a new sofa for the family room.
Do you remember our sofa decision that we made just a few weeks ago? Well we ventured back into West Elm to look at it again and made a hard decision on the fabric. Once the fabric was picked, the delivery was added, and the 10% surcharge for having to use a local company {???} it was well over $2,200!!! I am sure it is a well made sofa, but I just can't rationalize spending $2000 on a sofa when I have 2 shedding dogs and 2 kids that shed whatever is in there mouths and hands! So we left to search other stores. While in Macy's we stumbled across this beauty..
It has similar lines as the other sofa, but just a little more vintage looking.
The fabric is just perfect! It reads more beige on the computer, but in real life it is a light grey with a tint of beige in it. If you look really close the two fabrics are a grey and beige woven into the a tweed. Perfect!
I am so excited! Today is the apply day! 3 years to the date that we closed escrow on our short sale, and the day that we can apply for a loan. Paperwork is submitted, keep you fingers crossed and say a prayer that the remainder of the loan process goes smoothly!!!

So pretty! It's perfect and modern but looks cozy as well.
Oh and don't feel too bad about thinking about the new house. I did it too for months when we bought ours. It's an exciting time!
