A Few Changes... And A Thank You

Happy Monday after the long holiday!  Did anyone else feel like you just couldn't get back in the swing of things?  I have been feeling this way for way while now.  I am not sure if it is the warm weather or the fact that my front room is covered in a stack of boxes staring at me every time I walk down the stairs.

And that in turn has hidden all motivation for doing anything home decor or DIY!  Not to say that I had not had my hands full with clients projects and my moms house... I just haven't felt like writing about it lately!  Though I feel like it is time for a vacation, that I won't be taking do to our pending new house, I would like to note a couple of changes that you might see here at Living Savvy in the next few months to come.

I have been filling you in on the progress of our new house, and we couldn't be more excited to watch it be built!  It will be done in a few months, but unfortunately we will be waiting a few months after that to move into it.  Since we short sold our first house 3 years ago, we will be waiting till our anniversary date to be able to apply for the loan and then open escrow.  Our house will be finished on September 13th and we will be able to apply for our loan on September 17th!  In the mean time our lease will be up on our rental so we will be moving most of our stuff into storage and moving into my moms house here.  They will be heading back to Hawaii at the end of August and we will be moving in till we close on our new house.  This has been a huge relief for us {a couple months rent free} but it also has made me think about the direction of this blog and what I will do for the months I am not DIYing things for my house.

When I started this blog I did so to promote my design business Savvy Design West.  And over the last almost 2 years I have shared a lot of client work, but it has turned to a place where I can share my savvy tutorials and DIY ideas.  And what will it look like now that I am not DIYing?  Well I will be sharing a few more client projects, maybe a few more recipes {I have wanted to share for a while, I just am so bad at taking pictures while I cook}, maybe some thoughts on fashion, and defiantly a whole lot of ideas for my new house!  I won't lie... I do have a few projects up my sleeve for when I am in my moms house, but they will not be weekly as they once used to be.

Which brings me to my big thank you!  Thank you to all of the readers and followers I have acquired over the last couple years!  I have made some very dear friends and enjoyed reading every single comment!  I look forward to sharing my move with all of you!  I am sure it will be full of frustrations and comedy as my life always seems to be!  And if you stick with me through the next 4 months, I promise I have some big things planned for my new house and I am so excited to share them all with you!

I hope all of you are enjoying your summer!
Come back tomorrow for my tutorial on Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.  I haven't moved out just yet!!

I'll be here for sure! Part of the fun of blogging is getting to know each other through DIY but also through big life events like this!

Change is so exciting...and scary!! And neccesary for us (and our blogs) so we can grow.
I remember when I left the hair salon I'd worked in for 9 years, I was scared my clients wouldn't follow me to my new business! Of course they did (I did lose a few) but I got sooo many new clients...well everyone at our salon did because we were doing things our way, being ourselves. Authenticity is a big draw card and in the short time since I've 'met' you, you are always your beautiful self!!
Can't wait to see you through your move/s and whatever else you feel like sharing!!

I feel your pain....been moving for what seems like forever now and all to a place with no kitchen or livable downstairs place...just a bed and bath upstairs. But I look forward to the end of summer when construction should be complete....look forward to following your progress and you may want to follow mine as well to give you hope!

Woo hoo!! So excited for you! I've been absent from blogs for awhile while I hunker down and grow a baby. I get so super sick at the beginning of my pregnancy. But I'm so looking forward to what's next on your blog, especially recipes! I can't get enough to eat these days!

So excited for your move! Don't worry, I love reading whatever you post about, clients, your mom's house... Plus, I think the summer heat just drains most of us bloggers anyway, with kids home there is less blogging to be done (and commenting in my case, sorry!).
