As I was going through my pictures of my parents house I realized I have not shared their Master bedroom. Their house is pretty much done... or they have done all they are going to do this year. The only projects left are the kitchen and bathroom so they are on hold till next summer.
For the master my mom wanted it to feel like a retreat. My dad is a big golfer and sometimes could watch golf for hours on end {really it is the only time he sits still} so my mom wanted a place where she could go and watch her choice of show or movie.
We first started with the fabric. We found this branchy floral at a local fabric discount store for $6.99. My mom walked by it 3 times and every time it caught her eye. So we decided to by 13 yards of it. The inspiration for this room came from a few different pictures in magazines coupling the idea of the same fabric repeated everywhere and fabric panels as art. We used this idea for the headboard and repeated the fabric as much as we could.
For my mom symmetry is everything! It has been driving her crazy to not have a window on the left side of the bed. Seriously I am not sure why they don't have one there. We wanted them to be large, but just a little bit lower then the window top. My dad wrapped the fabric around ply wood and then attached finish moulding. We used D rings to hang them, much like a picture.
My mom bought all of the bedding pre made, and embellished the bedskirt with the floral. And to tie all the fabric together my mom made a bolster. I love how long it is!
My mom found these two chairs on CL... and of course my dad reupholstered them! They are super comfortable and my mom and I have a spot to come and watch movies!
My mom added the fabric to her existing roman shade simply with spray adhesive for fabric.
The only project left in the room is to mount the tv above the dresser and remove the center burl wood panels and install glass for all the cable and dvd player.
My parents love the room! Calm and peaceful!

What a creative take on a headboard. I like the panels too.
Quiet Luxury
Love the headboards--so elegant and pretty. Go Dad! He did an outstanding job upholstering those chairs. Mom must be very happy with results.
I love how the headboard is divided into three--really beautiful
Another great job! :) That fabric is just perfect - I love it! And I love all the great details you do - the bedskirt and the romans. Such attention to detail. A great space Tiffany!
