Spray Painters Anonymous.... Stay At Home-ista

Hi Savvy readers! I'm so excited to be here sharing my addiction love for spray paint. I blog at Stay at Home-ista about all things "at home". I'm a Harvard-trained architect; now stay at
home mom, house decorator, blogger, baker and occasional craft-maker. Oh, and I do pretty much every project with some combination of my three kids at my side.

About a month ago it was a 3 day weekend and rainy. So rainy I couldn't even fathom getting in a car with the three kids, so I decided we needed to have a Spray Paint Marathon in our garage. Doors open of course! So I started painting. Then I brought down a few more things, then a few more. Honestly, before I knew it I had painted more than I thought imaginable. And certainly more than my husband thought was possible!

My kids *really* enjoyed this.

Most of those projects ended up here, on our Spring Craft Mantle.

I sprayed the canvas behind the Newspaper Tree Art, because who wants to clean a brush? (Here's a secret, I'm not even sure how to clean a brush off, I use cheap foam ones and just throw them out. Shhhh, don't tell anyone)

I also sprayed the canvas and the "flowers" for my Toilet Paper Roll Art.

Then I made a few more flowers. Which I put on our front door as my version of a wreath.

Until my daughter came home and "needed" them in her room. So now they rest are on the wall letters in her butterfly themed bedroom.

The frames for my kid's Shell Collection and for a Little House on the Prairie-style Writing Slate.

That marathon also led to me painting a few frames just for the heck of it. One turned into a menu board in our expanded family command center (aka the back of the pantry door).

There is my son putting on his own sunscreen (the sun is here again!), looking in a mirror that I also spray painted.

There is more, but since I got at least seven projects out of one spray painting session, I'm pretty sure you don't want to see what happens when I try to spray paint my entire guest bedroom! The furniture, of course, not the walls. Although spraying walls does seem easier than a brush...

Thank you so much for sharing Jessica!  I love your spring mantel and your new organized pantry!

If you have not seen Jessica's great blog you must have seen her house!

Her home as been featured all over blogland... it is truly drool-worthy!  Not to mention her view of the SF bay is amazing!  It makes me wish I was back in SF!!

And now let us all repeat the Spray Painters Mantra:
Friends, help me source all the items I am searching for but can not find.
Give me the vision to think outside of the box and remember the can of spray paint,
and bless me with the patience to let each of the coats dry before I move on to the next step!

Cookies and coffee are in the back! =)

Thanks for letting me attend this meeting! I feel so much better now that I've shared all of that with you. Except now I have orange feet, I've been spraying again this morning!
