Color My World Challenge: Decor

This week for the Color My World Challenge we had to infuse the color of our choice into our homes via the decor.  After searching high and low, I was able to find a few decor items to infuse my color kelly green into my house.  I was also able to find a few items that could use some tweaking.

On my mantel I created a collection of green glassware.  First I found some green glass vases.

Then I took simple clear glass candle holders and gave them a light coat of spray paint.  I just happened to be at the end of the can, but this effect made them feel as if they were actually green glass and not just painted glass.  I then added a pop of color with a little acrylic paint in coral.

I also added a vase from my color blocking project.  A couple stems from my front yard, and I have a fun spring inspired kelly green mantel.

Inspired by the horse head I showed you on my inspiration page for kelly green, I came across this cute little bird statue on the clearance section at Ross.  I added a little extra touch with the gold base.

I also kept my painted vases out on my coffer table to bring a little green through out the rest of the room.

I am very excited about the new additions of kelly green to my house!  Next week paint!

such a fun idea! I like that the glass still looks like glass. Might have to try this technique now!
