My Refrigerator Organized... Part 2

I finally attacked the other half of my indoor fridge and my outdoor fridge! It feels so good to have those things cleaned and organized.  I now also feel like I do not have to shop for at least 2 weeks!

Before:

I am a big fan of having things where I can see them!  As you can see... things have just gotten stuffed back on to the shelves.  As I have said before, I am fairly organized and already have a system in place.. sort of.  I never let anything go to waste.  When berries or bananas are starting to go bad, I freezer them for my protein shakes.  When I have one serving of soup left over I freeze it for lunches.  But it was time to get my frozen leftovers organized.

Starting with my inside freezer I pulled everything out of the shelves.  I used the same process as I did when I did the other side: top to bottom, shelves, drawers, then door.  Yes I am showing my dirt at the bottom of the freezer... yuck!

If you can't tell by the pics... we are huge Costco fans.  Most of the time I make my kids eat what we are eating, but I always have a stock of mini pizzas, corn dogs, and chicken nuggets!  I try to keep this freezer all about the kids food, and a drawer full of our frozen fish.  I also buy all of my protein at Costco.  That way I can make menus for each week and I just have to purchase fresh produce and dairy items.  As you can see I like to have things out of their boxes and on display.  I really think it takes up less space, and if you see it you will use it!

This is my outdoor fridge.  This is where were I keep all of my bulky fresh produce, eggs, condiments I have only used once, and beverages.

The freezer is not big so I wanted to streamline the contains so I could tell by a glance what I have on hand.  I placed all of the frozen leftovers in a plastic tub.  I will eventually make a list of what I have and put it on the front of the door.  I also placed all of the chicken breast in a tub.. every time I would open the door they would com sliding out.  When I get home with my meat, I portion it out and freeze it flat {I do the same with my leftovers}.  This makes it easy to line them up like a filing system.

And finally the outdoor fridge.  The door doesn't have the best use of space, but I tried to keep all of the small beverages there.  I placed all of the carpi suns and beer in the two bottom drawers.  Anything else that was loose like the red peppers and the limes I corralled in tubs.  And yes, I have more eggs in this fridge too!!

Have I inspired you to clean out your cold storage and see what may be lurking at the bottom?

This organizing tip brought to you by Refresheddesigns.

I'm so happy to be adding to the great organizing tips that Tiffany has been featuring this month. I thought I'd share my tips on organizing jewelry, because I had to get a handle on this, since I have a ton of costume pieces. I like to organize jewelry and display it, thereby killing two birds with one stone: keeping everything neat and untangled, and creating artwork for my walls.

I found this great vintage wire shelf at a flea market and hung it on my bedroom wall to neatly display necklaces and hold bracelets. The I picked up the 3-tiered tray from IKEA to hold earrings and rings. Finally, a ceramic egg crate from the supermarket holds more earrings. All of this makes a nice little display in the corner of my room, and all my jewelry is easy to see and find in the mornings.

Another great way to organize jewelry!  I love the egg create for the small items!  Thanks Kelly for the variety of ideas!

Im so inspired by your fridge. I need to get better at freezing leftovers, not just putting them back in the fridge for some time in the vague "future".
How often do you shop for fresh produce? I can never get mine to last long enough to need to store it somewhere else.

Wow. Very impressive. I have the smallest freezer so it shouldn't be too hard for me to organize. I just have to get off my butt to do it.
