One Room Challenge... Week 6 It is Done!

Before I move to the reveal I am also guest posting over at A Simple Affair with my favorite things that start with the letter W.  Can you take a guess what one is?
Thanks Carly for having me!

***

It is the final week of The One Room Challenge!  I am so excited to have a new room!  This has been a totally great process!  It has been fun to see all of the other bloggers rooms and have a deadline for mine!  Most things never get competed in my own house!  And a huge thank you to
Linda from My Crafty Home-Life for getting us all together and setting this up!

Alright on to the finished room!  Though my reveal last week of my nightstands seemed a little premature I had some other projects up my sleeve I wanted to share today.  However... I had a huge brain fart and messed up on my measurements!  I wanted to frame a really great beach photo I had taken in Hawaii a couple of years ago into 6 frames.  The intent was to print the picture out in one piece and then cut it down to fit... but I thought the frames were 8x10 and they are 11x14!!!  So my print was too small!  I might get around to ordering another picture soon!

Anywho...

Do you remember the before?

This week I just added some of the finishing touches to the styling of the room:

All of these small things have some meaning to me and my husband.  The glass and silver pineapples were used at our wedding.  We were married on the ocean so instead of lighting a unity candle we joined two pineapple of sand into the bigger vase.  Our moms walked down the aisle with the silver pineapples.  The picture was taken of us when we were in Hawaii 9 years ago.  We actually talked about what sort of wedding we both wanted that day on the beach!

Let me refresh you on where we started...
Here was my design plan and space plan:

I made some major improvements on what I already owned.  Here is a list of the projects:

These chairs {I have two} were reupholstered with a super bright green that just screams tropical!  I added a big chiang mai dragon pillow to the back instead of the original pillow.

I completely remade the pillows on my bed.  I kept the tropical print, but added a green welt that matched the chair.  I also added some more color with the orange lattice and a big chiang mai dragon in the center.  I really like the seagrass welt!  I am hoping to use it again soon!

I redesigned the shape of my existing headboard.  And added some bright gold nail head.

I added the green chair fabric to my existing bed skirt.

I created my own sunburst mirror from bamboo!  Hands down my favorite project of the whole room!

I revamped my nightstands with some paint and bamboo!  I love this color with the rest of the room!

I painted some existing lamps I had.  I found some inexpensive shades and covered them in a brown linen. I do love the white contrast in the peacock nightstands.

And finally I sprayed my mirror the peacock blue to break up all of the wood tones.  I am not sure this mirror will be staying in the new house, and I know the tv will be gone.

Speaking of the new house, I did this room more so I could just pack these things up and transition them to the next house.  There I will pick out some paint for the walls and add window treatments; maybe I will incorporate the seagrass trim there?!?!

Here is the space plan for the new space:

I hope you enjoyed my design process over the last 6 weeks!  Thank you for all of your comments and advice along the way!  It is always nice to have a sounding board!

Be sure to check out the rest of the finished rooms from the other amazing bloggers

Great transformation Tiffany!
I don't know about you, but I was amazed at how much work re-doing the master bedroom was. I'm pooped now!
My favourites in your room are your chair, headboard and pillows. I also think you chose the perfect colour for your bedside tables.
You did a GREAT job :)

Tiffany,

I love the items you chose to "merchandise" the bedside tables, etc. I think that everything has meaning as well as looks good is the ultimate goal with found objects! Your room really evokes the theme of what you were trying for- great job!!

Room looks great and I LOVE all the elements...but...don't hate me for saying this...it doesn't quite look 'done'. I think you need one more step, paint some colour on those walls to elevate the room from 'great' to 'good gracious that's gorgeous!' - just a thought!

Tiffany, this is perfect. All of it. I was looking at the "before & after" ,each choice you made...made the room so polished. The idea to change the shape of your headboard completely transformed the space. the larger bedside lamps, elevates your eye...and that star-burst mirror..faboo. It was so great getting to know you better, through this. Margarita time!

Lovely work, Tiffany! I think the color palette you chose is gorgeous! All your colors and patterns work well together. I remember that you're moving, so everything you were doing on this needed to work in the next house, too, I think. It looks beautiful here, and will be perfect for anywhere!
