One day {months ago} I had an idea to make a bench. I had most of the materials, but needed some fabric and nail heads. I wanted a mid-century modern look... a little danish... Here is what was made:
I found this amazing blue and beige greek key fabric this weekend for $3 a yard on clearance!! After my complete design breakdown.. this is exactly what I needed! I LOVE greek key on almost anything!
I am not sure why.. but I thought taking all of the nail head and staples out.. yeah right! After taking the legs off I began the 1 1/2 hour process to take the fabric off of the bench. I began with needle nose pliers for the nail head and then went to town with a flat head screw driver for the staples.
Upholstering, for the most part, is easy. Just be sure to pull the fabric tight over the edge to create a smooth corner under the foam.
It also doesn't hurt to have a little helper!
Screw legs back in... I decided to move the legs out to the corners.
And here is the finished bench:

Did I mention I LOVE this fabric {ie. greek key} and I am so happy with the way it turned out! Now I just need to find some new pillows...

Gorgeous, glad I found your blog! Janell
I was just wondering if you could give some info on the foam underneath. Did you also use batting?
